See your Google Calendar on the timetable
The timetable reaches your Google Calendar through Pick a Time, the booking app. Connect your Pick a Time account and two things arrive on the grid: the bookings people made with you, and the events in the Google Calendar linked to that account.
They draw on the grid in their calendar’s colour, and they can’t be edited from here. Plan my day then schedules your tasks around them instead of over them.
Connect your calendar
Section titled “Connect your calendar”To connect:
- Open
Timetable. - Press
Calin the toolbar. - Press
Connect Pick a Time. - Approve the connection on the Pick a Time page.
Pick a Time sends you back to the timetable, and the toast names the account you connected. A first-time visitor also sees See your real meetings here above the grid, whose Connect button does the same thing.
Only bookings arrive until Google Calendar is connected inside Pick a Time. The Cal menu says so in an amber line, and nothing else from your schedule shows until you fix it there.
Once it’s connected, the Cal button turns green.
Choose what each calendar does
Section titled “Choose what each calendar does”The Cal menu lists every source with events in the period on screen. Bookings are one source, and each Google calendar is another. Each row carries 3 switches, all on to begin with:
Showdraws that source’s events on the grid.Namesshows the event titles. Turn it off and every event from that source readsBusy.BusymakesPlan my daywork around those events.
Open the info mark beside the account line for the one-sentence version.
Turning Show off doesn’t stop Busy counting. A hidden calendar still keeps Plan my day out of that time.
Open an event
Section titled “Open an event”Click an event on the grid and its details open: the day, the times and which calendar it came from. Synced events are read-only here.
Join meeting appears when the event carries a meeting link. Open Google Calendar takes you there to change it, and a booking offers Manage in Pick a Time instead.
Block your Google Calendar from the timetable
Section titled “Block your Google Calendar from the timetable”The same menu can send your time blocks the other way.
- Press
Cal. - Turn on
Block my Google Calendar. - Press
Addand the count in the toast if you want the blocks you already have copied across too.
From then on, a block you add, change or delete makes the same change in Google Calendar, as a busy event. A repeating block goes across as a repeating event. Open the info mark beside the switch for the rule in brief.
A line in the menu counts changes still waiting to reach Google, and anything that keeps failing is dropped with a toast. If Pick a Time needs permission to write, the toast carries a Reconnect button.
Your own written-out blocks aren’t drawn twice. The grid shows the block, not the copy of it that came back from Google.
Refresh, switch or disconnect
Section titled “Refresh, switch or disconnect”- The circular arrow beside
Syncedfetches the latest events now. Switch accountdisconnects and starts the connection again with another Pick a Time account.Disconnectstops the sync. Your own blocks stay on the timetable.
If a refresh fails, the menu says Couldn't refresh and shows your last synced view rather than an empty grid.
Google Calendar is connected, but only bookings show. Why?
None of its calendars could be read. The menu says so, and points you to each booking page’s calendar in Pick a Time’s Coaching Settings. A meeting link pasted into the booking email field is the usual cause.
Can I move a Google event by dragging it on the timetable?
No. Change it in Google Calendar and the timetable catches up.
Does Block my Google Calendar share what my blocks are called?
Yes. Each busy event in Google Calendar carries the name of the block it came from.
Where are my booking links?
In the same menu, under Booking links, when your Pick a Time account has booking pages. Each has a copy button and an open button. See your booking link for where they come from.
