Choose what the assistant sends you

The assistant can start 18 different messages on its own, from the morning brief to a nudge when a colleague comments on your task. Each one has its own switch, so you can keep the meeting prep card and lose the weekly wrap.

These switches only cover what the assistant starts. A reply to something you asked for is never affected.

Open Notifications, under Account in the left rail, then use the Telegram assistant jump link at the top. Push and email preferences sit on the same page, above it.

You need the assistant connected first. Without it the section holds one card reading The assistant is not connected, and a Connect Telegram button. See Connect the Telegram assistant.

To change one message:

  1. Open Notifications and jump to Telegram assistant.
  2. Find the message by its group: Your daily rhythm, Nudges the assistant starts, Reminders you set yourself, People and teamwork, Calendar and Lark or Reports.
  3. Flip its switch.

Every switch saves as you flip it. The count under Everything says how many of the 18 are on.

Each row names what arrives and when it fires, so you’re not guessing what you’re switching off. A switch that costs you something says so underneath in amber once it’s off.

A new account reads 3 of 18 on. Those 3 are Task reminders, Routine nudges and Lark connection expired. Before a meeting, check-ins, the weekly wrap, streak saves, kudos and team pings all start off.

Morning brief needs an hour before it can send, so it reads off until you pick one. Turn it on and Send it at appears under the switch, starting at 8am. Routine nudges has an hour of its own: a routine that picked a day but no time goes out at 10am unless you move it.

Quiet hours holds back the messages the assistant starts on its own. Set From and Until, both in Singapore time, and the window wraps midnight the way you’d expect: 10pm to 7am is one evening ending the next morning. Set either end to Off and there are no quiet hours at all, because the window needs both ends.

The Everything card holds the master switch, Let the assistant message me. Off, it mutes everything the assistant starts and greys out the switches below, which keep your settings and take over the moment you turn it back on.

The reminders you set yourself still ring. Task reminders and routine nudges have their own switches, and turning the master off doesn’t reach them. Switch off Task reminders and Routine nudges to stop those.

The same decisions work as messages to the bot, if you’re already in Telegram: /alerts off mutes what it starts, /reminders off stops task reminders and routine nudges, /brief on 7am moves the morning brief, and /routines 8am moves the routine fallback hour.

I turned everything off. Will the bot still answer me?

Yes. Ask it anything and it replies as normal. These switches only govern messages it starts.

Why is the assistant so quiet?

Most of the 18 start off on purpose. Open the page and switch on the ones you want.

Do quiet hours stop my 7am task reminder?

No. Reminders you set yourself ring through the quiet window.

Can my manager change these for me?

No. Every switch here is yours alone. Your district does set how often the progress check-in and the weekly wrap arrive, once those are on.

What can I actually ask the assistant?

Plenty. See What you can ask the assistant.
