Use the assistant on WhatsApp instead

The assistant also answers on WhatsApp, from your team’s business number. It’s the same assistant as the Telegram one and reads the same tasks, notes and numbers. You pair it differently, and short words do the job of buttons.

Your district needs the WhatsApp assistant switched on, and the ActivityTracker team does that. Until it’s on, a paired number gets no replies at all.

To connect:

  1. Open Integrations, under Account in the left rail.
  2. Open the WhatsApp assistant card.
  3. Press Connect WhatsApp. WhatsApp opens on your team’s number with the word link and a code typed in.
  4. Send that message from the phone you want to use.

The card shows the code under Send this code to the assistant, with Copy beside it, and waits. The code expires in 10 minutes. Once your message lands, the card reads Connected with your number, and the assistant sends you a welcome.

If WhatsApp didn’t open, press Open it again under the code. When the card can’t find your team’s number, it asks you to message the code yourself. Open the info mark beside that line: your admin knows the number.

The code works sent on its own, without link in front.

WhatsApp has no buttons, so a short message does their job. Send the word as a message of its own. Inside a longer sentence, the assistant reads it as part of that sentence.

  • tasks numbers your open tasks. Reply done 2 to complete the second.
  • log numbers your district’s activities. Reply 2, or 2 x3 to log it 3 times, up to 20.
  • note followed by your text saves it exactly as typed.
  • brief sends today’s rundown. brief on 8am schedules it daily, and brief off stops it.
  • routines 8am moves the hour a routine with a day but no time nudges you.
  • stop mutes everything the assistant sends unprompted, and start undoes it.
  • reminders off and reminders on switch the reminders you set yourself.
  • new starts a clean conversation, and unlink disconnects the number.
  • help lists all of them.

A reminder takes a reply too. Send done, or snooze with a time such as snooze 30 or snooze 1h. Plain snooze waits 10 minutes on a task reminder and an hour on a routine, and a routine nudge also takes mute.

Before it deletes or sends something for you, the assistant asks. Reply yes to go ahead or no to cancel. A confirmation older than 10 minutes won’t run, so ask again.

Voice notes, photos and PDFs work. A voice note can be up to 20MB, and a photo or a PDF up to 15MB.

You can keep both connected. When you do, the switches on the Notifications page change the Telegram side, so change what WhatsApp sends with the words above.

To stop using WhatsApp, press Disconnect on the card and confirm on Disconnect WhatsApp?. The assistant stops replying there, and stops sending your brief and weekly wrap. Keep it leaves it connected.

I paired, and the assistant doesn’t answer. Why?

Your district hasn’t switched the WhatsApp assistant on. Ask your admin to raise it with the ActivityTracker team.

It says my number is already connected. What now?

That number is paired with another ActivityTracker account. Disconnect it from that account first.

My code was refused. Why?

It expired or had been used already. Press Connect WhatsApp again for a fresh one.

Does WhatsApp have the manager commands?

No. /team, /reflect, /health and /connectlark are Telegram only, though you can ask for your team in a sentence. See Telegram commands and the morning brief.
