Connect the Telegram assistant

The assistant is ActivityTracker in a Telegram chat. You message it between appointments and it logs the activity, reads your tasks and answers questions about your own numbers. Connecting is one tap here and one tap in Telegram.

The assistant acts with your account and sees only what you can see.

To link Telegram:

  1. Open Integrations, under Account in the left rail.
  2. Open the Telegram Assistant card if it isn’t already open.
  3. Press Connect Telegram. Telegram opens on a chat with the bot.
  4. Press Start in Telegram.

While it waits, the button reads Waiting for Telegram. The card then flips to Connected on its own within a few seconds, and the chip at the top of the page reads Telegram connected. The link the button mints is good for 15 minutes. If Telegram didn’t open, the card shows a second link under the button that opens the same chat.

Once you’re connected the card grows a Send me a test message button. Press it and the bot messages you straight away. A connection you’ve never tested is one you’re taking on faith until the day a reminder matters.

The card also carries Choose what it sends you, which opens the switch for every message the assistant can start on its own. See Choose what the assistant sends you.

Disconnect is at the bottom of the card, behind a Disconnect Telegram? confirmation with Keep it connected beside it.

Do I need a separate login for the bot?

No. The one-time link carries your account with it, which is why it expires after 15 minutes.

Nothing happened when I pressed Connect Telegram.

Use the link under the button. Phones sometimes swallow the hand-off with no error to react to, and that link is the tap that always works.

Can I use the assistant without Telegram?

Yes. The Ask anything button in the bottom-right corner opens a panel on every page, and its Assistant tab is the same assistant. On a wide screen your workspace pages carry a second Ask anything bar along the foot. See What you can ask the assistant.
