Send feedback or reach a person
There are 2 ways to tell us something. The feedback board is public: you post a bug, an idea or a question, and everyone else can vote on it. A message to the team is private, a person reads it, and the answer comes back by email.
Use the board for something other people would want too. Use a message for anything about your own account, or anything you’d rather not post.
Both live in the same panel. Ask anything, in the bottom-right corner of every
page, opens it. The panel has 5 tabs along its foot: Home, Assistant,
Updates, Feedback and Help.
Post on the feedback board
Section titled “Post on the feedback board”The Feedback tab holds the board: Request a feature at the top, a search box,
and every request with its votes.
To post:
- Open the panel, then the
Feedbacktab. - Press
Request a feature. - Pick
Feature request,Improvement,BugorQuestion. - Type a title into
One line that says it. - Add details underneath if the title isn’t enough.
- Press
Post.
Post stays off until there’s a title. A title stops at 120 characters, and the
details at 4,000.
After you post
Section titled “After you post”Posted as # and a number confirms it. See it on the board opens the post,
and Post another clears the composer for the next one.
The post goes up under your name, in public, and it carries your vote already.
We email you when its status changes. The statuses are Open,
Under review, Planned, In progress, Complete and Not planned.
The Updates tab’s What is coming sorts the open requests into In progress,
Planned and Under review. What shipped lists what has gone out, newest
first, with the date.
Vote and comment on someone else’s post
Section titled “Vote and comment on someone else’s post”Press the vote pill beside a request to add your vote, and press it again to take
it back. Type into Search requests to find one.
Press a request to open it. The comments sit underneath, with an Add a comment
box at the top of them.
Message a person on the team
Section titled “Message a person on the team”Message the team, on the panel’s Home, opens a thread that a person on the
team reads.
To send a message:
- Open the panel.
- Press
Message the team. - Type your message.
- Attach a screenshot or record a voice note, if it helps.
- Press the send arrow.
⌘K, or Ctrl+K on Windows, has the same door: pick Message a human. For
everything else that search box does, see
Search anything and run commands with Cmd-K.
A message stops at 2,000 characters. The paperclip attaches files, and you can paste a screenshot straight into the box. Note that 1 message carries up to 5 files, each up to 10 MB. The microphone records a voice note until you press it again.
The thread answers your first message with where the reply goes. The reply comes to your account’s email address, so check that inbox rather than the app.
Ask the assistant to pass it on
Section titled “Ask the assistant to pass it on”You can tell the assistant what’s wrong and ask it to send that to the team. It
offers a button that starts Send to a human:, and pressing it sends the message
the same way the thread does.
It can post an idea to the board for you as well. That button starts
Post to the feedback board:, and the post goes up under your name.
When an answer is wrong, press the thumbs down under it. The note that follows
offers Tell the team, which opens Message the team with your question and its
answer already filled in.
For more on the assistant, see What you can ask the assistant.
Does anyone actually read the messages?
Yes. Every message to the team is read by a person, and the answer comes by email.
Can I post on the board without it showing my name?
Not from the panel. A post from the panel carries your name. The public page at
activity-tracker.io/roadmap has a name box that’s optional, and a post with no
name there shows as Anonymous.
I hid the Ask anything button. How do I get it back?
Press the narrow Support tab on the right edge of the screen. To hide it again,
press Hide the floating button at the foot of the panel’s Home.
Should a bug go on the board or in a message?
On the board, if other people are likely to hit it too, so they can vote. In a message, if it involves your own data.
