Personalise the assistant: name, tone, modes and documents

Personalise your assistant changes how the assistant in the app treats you. It holds the name it calls you, the tone it uses, prompts you’d otherwise retype, the documents it may read and outside tools it may call.

These settings shape the assistant in the app. The Telegram and WhatsApp chats don’t read your name, tone or modes.

To open it:

  1. Press Ask anything, then the panel’s Assistant tab.
  2. Press the sliders button at the top of the chat, named Personalise.
  3. Pick a tab: Personality, Modes, Sources or Connections.

Integrations has the same door. Its Assistant knowledge and connections card carries Open assistant settings.

What should it call you? takes up to 40 characters. What do you do? takes 200, and the info mark beside it explains that this shapes what the assistant assumes you already know.

How should it sound? offers 10 tone chips: Direct, Warm, Brief, Detailed, Encouraging, Blunt, Formal, Casual, Sceptical and Coaching. Pick up to 6.

Anything else it should always do? holds 2,000 characters of your own instructions. Open the info mark beside it: they change how it answers, never what it’s allowed to do.

Press Save. An open panel picks up the change straight away.

Note that an instruction asking it to ignore its rules, or to recommend a product for a client, is skipped. The rest of what you wrote is still followed.

A mode is a saved prompt. It sits as a chip above the message box while a chat is empty, and a tap sends it.

To make one:

  1. Open the Modes tab.
  2. Type an emoji, if you want one, and a name.
  3. Write the prompt.
  4. Press Add mode.

A name takes 40 characters and a prompt 1,000. You can keep 12 modes. At 12 the form is replaced by a line asking you to delete one first, and the bin on a mode deletes it.

The Sources tab sets what the assistant reads beyond your live workspace. Your notes and Uploaded documents are switches, both on to start, and each saves as you flip it.

To add a document:

  1. Open Sources.
  2. Press Upload a PDF, .txt, .md, .csv or .json and choose files.
  3. Wait for Added.

You can paste text instead, with a name for it. .yaml and .log files upload too.

One upload takes up to 5 files, and you can hold 20 documents. A file longer than 40,000 characters keeps its first 40,000, and the message names the file that was cut.

Each document has a switch of its own, so a file can stay without being used. The bin deletes it.

Connections adds MCP servers, which are outside tools the assistant may call. Give the server a name, its address and a bearer token if it needs one, then press Connect.

Open the info mark beside Connect: the assistant asks before every call.

A server’s switch turns it off and keeps its token. The refresh button reads its tools again, and the cross removes it.

Does the Telegram assistant use my tone?

No. Personality and modes apply to the assistant in the app.

Where did my mode chips go?

They show only before a conversation starts. Start a new chat and they’re back.

Can I upload a Word document?

No. It reads PDFs and text files and refuses anything else. Save the Word file as a PDF, or paste its text.

Why was my PDF refused?

It has no text in it, which usually means a scan or a photographed page. A PDF exported from a document works.
