Create a routine and keep its streak
A routine is work you repeat on a schedule. A one-off to-do is a task, not a routine, and the empty page says so.
The page groups your routines into four columns by how often they come round:
Daily, Weekly, Monthly and Yearly. Every column heading carries what one
check in it is worth in coins, and how many of its routines are done for the
current period.
Create a routine
Section titled “Create a routine”To set one up:
- Open
Routines. - Press the
+beside the add box. - Name it in the
New routinewindow. - Pick a
Cadence. - Fill in
When (optional). - Set the
Target. - Press
Create routine.
Add an icon opens the emoji picker. Difficulty is easy, medium or hard.
Target is how many times you mean to do it in one period, from 1 to 50, and the
line beside the box says the period out loud, because 5 times a week and 5 times
every 3 weeks are very different promises.
If a routine with that name already exists, a line under the box warns you. It’s a warning rather than a block: two routines can share a name, but a second copy splits the streak.
Type it instead
Section titled “Type it instead”The box at the top of the page takes the whole thing in one line. Try pipeline review 1st tuesday of every month 10am and press Enter. An untyped schedule
lands as a daily routine.
Start from a pack
Section titled “Start from a pack”Packs holds 24 sets of ready-made routines, Adviser basics among them: cold
calls and client follow-ups daily, and book appointments, roleplay practice,
pipeline review and ask for referrals weekly. Opening a pack ticks every row you
do not already have, so adding one twice cannot double it up. See
routine packs
for the rest of them and for setting one for your team.
Say when it happens
Section titled “Say when it happens”The When (optional) box reshapes itself around the cadence you picked.
Under Daily, Repeat is every day, weekdays or every N days, and N runs
from 2 to 90 counting from today. Under Weekly you set how many weeks apart,
from 1 to 52, and pick the days of the week it lands on. Pick more than one and
the box counts them for you.
Under Monthly, Monthly on is either a date or a weekday, because a
month-end review is the last Friday rather than the 28th. A date past the 28th
says that short months use their last day. The interval choice is month,
2 months, 3 months or 6 months.
Time of day is an hour, a minute and an AM/PM pair. Leave it empty and the
hour shown in grey is the one the assistant will actually use.
The line under the box says what will happen, in full. Without a schedule it says
nothing is sent. If Telegram isn’t connected it says that too, and points you at
Settings. Keep the schedule, skip the nudge keeps the dates and silences the
reminder.
Check one off
Section titled “Check one off”Tap the circle on the left of the card. It fills, the name strikes through, and the coins land.
Coins are banked once per period. Daily is worth 3, weekly 5, every 2 weeks 7, monthly 10, every 2 months 12, every 3 months 15, every 6 months 20 and yearly 25. Hitting the target a second time in the same period earns nothing more, and the toast says the coins were already banked.
A daily routine carries a strip of the week under its name, Monday to Sunday. Tap
a past day to backfill it, tap a checked one to undo. Days ahead can’t be tapped.
Every other cadence gets its last 7 periods instead, with the current one last and
labelled now.
A routine with a target above 1 shows a count chip instead. Its menu offers
+1 rep, +3 reps, +5 reps, Fill to target and Undo one.
Watch the streak
Section titled “Watch the streak”The flame on the right of the card counts periods in a row. A weekly routine says
wk after the number so three weeks doesn’t read as three days.
Streaks & records at the top of the page opens the whole picture: a square per
day for the last 4 weeks with every routine added together, and a tile per routine
carrying its current streak, its record, its total and how much of the last 30
days it covered. Copy puts the lot on the clipboard as text.
The chart button beside Packs opens routine insights. One of its panels is
Consistency by weekday, which tells you which day of the week you keep losing.
Tidy the page
Section titled “Tidy the page”Display sets the layout: List, Grid or Board. Search routines… narrows
by name, the tag chips narrow by tag, and Hide done leaves only what’s left.
Each card’s ⋯ holds Check off, Log reps, Move up, Move down, Edit routine…, Copy link, Colour, Pause and Delete. Delete asks twice: the
row changes to Tap again to delete.
Pause moves the routine to a Paused list at the bottom and keeps its
streak, which is the reason to pause rather than delete. Resume brings it
back.
I forgot to log yesterday. Can I still?
Yes. Tap yesterday’s box on the card. It fills the same way, and the streak counts it.
Why is my weekdays routine greyed out on Saturday?
Because it isn’t due. A weekdays routine reads as a rest day at the weekend and
the two boxes can’t be tapped, so nothing you skip there costs you a streak.
Does a paused routine break my streak?
No. That’s what pausing is for. The paused row shows the streak it’s holding on to.
Can a routine remind me?
Yes, through the Telegram assistant, once the routine has a schedule. A routine
with no day or time sends nothing, and the card shows + when? until you give it
one.
