Log a closed case from a contact
When a contact signs, log the case from their record rather than from a blank form. The app carries the person over to the Log page and opens the closed-case form with them already filled in. Once the case is in, they’re a client in your book.
Log it from the record
Section titled “Log it from the record”To log a case for a contact:
- Open the contact.
- Press
Log closed caseat the foot of theOverviewtab. - Fill in the policy, the annualised premium and
Year-1 FYC. - Press
Log Deal.
Pressing the button takes you to Log. The Client (linked on closed cases) box already holds the contact’s name, and the closed-case form is open on top of it.
The form itself works exactly as it does from Log. See Log a closed case for policies, FYC, photos and tag teams.
Log it from the board or the grid
Section titled “Log it from the board or the grid”You don’t have to open the record first.
- On
Kanban, right-click the card, or hold it on a phone. - In
Grid, right-click the row.
Then pick Log closed case from the menu. It lands you in the same filled-in form.
Link a case you’re logging from Log
Section titled “Link a case you’re logging from Log”Already on Log? Pick the person yourself.
- Press the box under
Client (linked on closed cases), which readsSearch or create a contact. - Type part of the name and pick the contact.
- Tap
Closedand fill in the form.
Nobody by that name yet? Create and what you typed adds them to the end of the table’s first stage and picks them in one go. The cross beside the box clears it.
Open the info mark beside the label for the rule: only a closed case links the client, and the other taps on Log don’t.
What changes on the contact
Section titled “What changes on the contact”The contact’s status becomes client, so a filter on Status Client finds them and lead-only views leave them out.
The contact’s open deals are marked Won that day, so they leave In pipeline. A deal you add to the client afterwards is open and counts again.
The case also appears on the contact’s Activity tab, alongside their notes, finished tasks and changes. It carries the name of your district’s closed activity.
When the button isn’t there
Section titled “When the button isn’t there”Log closed case only appears in your own book. A district admin reading an advisor’s Contacts through the Whose CRM picker doesn’t get it, on the record or in the menus. A case logged there would count as the admin’s own sale, in their points and their closed cases.
I pressed the button, but the form didn’t open. What happened?
The form opens once your activity list has loaded on Log. If your district has no closed activity at all, only the client box is filled, and there’s no form to open.
Can I link a case I’ve already logged to a contact?
No. The link is made as the case is logged. Pick the client before you press Log Deal.
Does logging a case move the contact to my Closed stage?
No. Only the status changes. Move the card yourself if you want the column to match. See Add a contact and move it through stages.
Will the contact be filled in again the next time I open Log?
No. The hand-over is used once, when the form opens, and then it’s gone.
