Rename your activity buttons and change their points
The buttons your district logs with are set in one place: Activities, the last
section of District settings under Manage in the left rail. Whatever it says
is what every member sees on the Log page.
The list belongs to the district, so a change reaches every agency in it at once. Set earns 1 point and Closed earns 5 by default, and you can move both.
The section’s card starts folded. Its header counts how many buttons are active.
It lives at /tracker/admin/settings/activities, and an old link ending
#activities still lands there.
Rename a button or change its points
Section titled “Rename a button or change its points”To edit one:
- Open
Manage, thenDistrict settings, thenActivities. - Press the
Activitiescard to unfold it. - Press the edit icon on the button’s row.
- Change
Display Name,Pointsor both. - Press
Update Activity.
Points go from 0.5 to 100, in steps of 0.5. Anything outside that is refused with
Points must be between 0.5 and 100.
A change applies to what’s logged from then on. Activities already logged keep the points and the name they were logged with, so last month’s totals don’t move when you reprice a button. The same is true of an activity somebody edits.
Add a new button
Section titled “Add a new button”To create one:
- Unfold the
Activitiescard and pressNew Activity. - Type an
Activity ID, a short name like the ones already in the table. - Type the
Display Namemembers will read. - Set
PointsandSort Order. - Pick an
Iconand aColor. - Press
Create Activity.
Activity ID and Display Name are both required. An Activity ID can’t be
changed once it’s created, so the box is greyed out when you edit.
Sort Order places the button in the list, lowest number first. Color offers
Primary, Energy, Warning, Success, Accent and Destructive.
Description is optional, and says what the activity stands for.
Hide a button
Section titled “Hide a button”There’s no delete. Switch a button’s Visible toggle off instead, and it leaves
the Log page for everyone in the district.
Open the info mark beside Visible: the button disappears, and everything already
logged with it stays.
Hidden buttons drop out of the table too. Switch Show hidden on to see them, and
flip Visible back on to restore one.
Who else can change these?
Anyone who can open the admin dashboard in your district, which includes agency Owners. The Owner role is described as the one that configures activities and points.
An advisor says a button is missing from their Log page. Did I hide it?
Maybe, but check theirs first. Each member can hide buttons for themselves under
Activity buttons in their own My preferences, and that leaves your list alone. A whole tab
missing is a different question.
If I lower the points on a button, do past activities lose points?
No. Each activity keeps the points it was logged with. The new figure applies to
what’s logged after you press Update Activity.
Can I fix a typo in an Activity ID?
No. Hide the button and create a new one with the right ID.
