Turn push and email notifications on or off

Every way the app reaches you is on one page. Notifications at /tracker/notifications holds push, email and the Telegram assistant, in that order.

Open it from My preferences in the left rail, then Notifications, or from the link in the footer of any email the app sends you. The chips at the top jump to On this device, Email and Telegram assistant.

Every switch saves as you flip it. There’s no save button to find.

Push reaches the browser or installed app you’re using now, and nowhere else. Open the info mark beside On this device: it carries cheers, follows and house invites.

To turn it on:

  1. Open Notifications.
  2. Switch on Push notifications.
  3. Allow notifications when your browser asks.

Once it’s on, 4 more switches appear under it: Cheers & kudos, Follows, Gifts and House & challenges. All 4 start on.

Note that the main switch is per device, and the 4 under it are per account. Mute Gifts on your laptop and your phone stops ringing for gifts too.

Switch Push notifications off and this device stops getting push. Your other devices keep theirs.

If you once blocked notifications for the site, the switch greys out and the row tells you to allow them in your browser settings. The app can’t ask again, so the change has to happen in the browser.

The Email card lists the 7 emails you can stop. They’re Weekly digest, Coaching week digest, Monthly recap, Daily kudos & comments, Achievements, Case closed celebration and Activity nudge.

Every one starts on. The line beside Email notifications reads All on, or counts how many of the 7 are still on.

To stop one:

  1. Open Notifications and jump to Email.
  2. Press See the email under a row to check which one it is.
  3. Switch that row off.

See the email opens a sample with its subject line, so you can match it to what’s in your inbox.

Open the info mark beside Email: sign-in and security emails aren’t touched by these switches. Receipts and other billing emails aren’t on the list either, so they always send.

The last section holds the assistant’s own switches, once Telegram is connected. Without it, the section shows The assistant is not connected and a Connect Telegram button.

Let the assistant message me is the master switch, and it only covers what the assistant starts on its own. Turn it off and the page says so: Task reminders and routine nudges still arrive; switch those off below.

Those 2 keep their own switches under Reminders you set yourself, and stay switchable while the master is off. The rest grey out until it’s back on.

For each of the assistant’s messages and quiet hours, see Choose what the assistant sends you.

I turned push off on my phone. Why does my tablet still ring?

The main push switch only covers the device you flip it on. Open Notifications on the tablet too, or mute the category, which reaches every device.

Can I stop every email the app sends?

No. Only the 7 on the list can be stopped. Sign-in, security and billing emails always send.

Does turning the assistant’s master switch off stop my task reminders?

No. Task reminders and routine nudges have their own switches. Turn those off to stop them.

Where did these switches used to be?

Push and email sat in the profile sheet. They moved here, and the sheet’s Notifications row brings you to this page.
