Telegram commands and the morning brief

Most of what the Telegram assistant does starts with a plain sentence. The commands cover what a sentence does worse: logging in one tap, saving a note word for word, and switching messages on or off.

You need the assistant connected first. See Connect the Telegram assistant. Telegram lists the commands above the message box, and /help sends them with examples.

/brief sends today’s rundown now. It names what’s overdue, what’s due today and what’s coming up. When nothing is overdue or due, it previews your open tasks instead.

Below that come the activities you’ve logged so far today and your timetable blocks. With Google Calendar connected through Pick a Time, today’s events are added at the end. When Google has nothing for today, a connected Lark calendar’s events are added instead.

Send /brief on 7am, with the hour you want. The bot confirms the hour in Singapore time, and the brief arrives around then every day.

The word on is required. /brief 7am isn’t read as the command and doesn’t set an hour. /brief on with no hour picks 8am, and the hour can be written as 7am, 7pm or 19.

/brief off stops the daily brief, and /brief on its own still works any time. /brief on sets the same hour as Send it at under Morning brief on the Notifications page.

/alerts off mutes everything the assistant sends unprompted, check-ins included. The reminders you set yourself still ring. /alerts on turns the rest back on.

/reminders off is a separate switch. It stops the task reminders and routine nudges you set, and leaves everything else as it was. /reminders on brings them back.

To go fully quiet in Telegram, send both. The app still nudges you while it’s open.

/routines 8am moves the hour a routine nudges you when it picked a day but no time. That hour starts at 10am. /routines on its own tells you the current one.

/log shows your district’s activities as buttons, up to 12, with their points. A tap logs one. Log a closed case this way and the bot asks for the policy and the annualised premium, because without them the case counts but its FYC doesn’t.

/tasks lists your open tasks, 8 at a time, with the total in the header. The tick on a row completes that task, and the arrow opens it in the app.

/note saves the text after it exactly as you typed it, as in /note Mr Tan wants a review in Sept. The first line becomes the note’s title.

/reflect lists this week’s reflection questions. Reply with your answers and the assistant files them, or write the reflection in the app.

/team is for managers. It lists up to 15 people with their points this week, their streak and the tasks still open from you, then names anybody who has logged nothing.

/health reports what the assistant got wrong for you over the last 7 days.

/new starts a clean conversation, and /unlink disconnects the bot from your account. /connectlark links Lark, for Win Financial Group. See Connect Lark (Win Financial Group).

I sent /brief 7am and nothing was scheduled. Why?

The command needs the on. Send /brief on 7am.

I set the hour, but no brief came. Why?

Something is holding it back. /alerts off mutes the scheduled brief, and so does an hour that falls inside your quiet hours on the Notifications page.

Does /alerts off stop my task reminders?

No. Send /reminders off for those.

What time zone are the hours in?

Singapore time, for the brief and for /routines.

Why don’t I get check-ins?

They’re off until you switch them on under Notifications. Once they’re on, your district sets how often they arrive.

Do these work on WhatsApp?

Most of them, as plain words without the slash. See Use the assistant on WhatsApp instead.
