Financial adviser retention

Catch the new adviser who's stopped prospecting in week three, not week seven.

You can't promise them a good first year. You can see who's gone quiet at 3 days, keep their target within reach and sit down with them while it still helps.

30 minutes. You choose the day and the time.

  • It shows you who to talk to.
  • The talk is still yours.

The Needs you today list for an agency's new advisers, with made-up names.

The resignation

You usually hear about it when they resign

The first year is mostly rejection. A new adviser stops prospecting and tells you it's fine, because admitting otherwise feels worse. You've got a team to run, and they don't shout. By the time the numbers say so, they've already decided.

01Quiet weeks

See who's gone quiet, at 3 days and at 7.

A new adviser who stops logging has often stopped prospecting. No entry for 3 days puts them on Needs you today, ahead of anyone who's only behind, and 7 days flags them again. Nudge them from the list, or open their card.

  • A nudge rings their bell in the app
  • Anyone on leave drops to the bottom
  • Their file shows the last two weeks

02Their target

Keep each new adviser's target tied to their own pledge.

A target set by the top performer's numbers is one they'll stop looking at. Theirs comes from their own yearly goal and case size. On the board, it's their pledge points at a bar you pick from 20% to 80%, less leave and Singapore public holidays. Each week reads Hit, Miss or On leave.

  • The bar you pick applies to everyone on the view
  • Only they and you see the target on the board

03Their progress

Show them their own progress on the weeks with no close.

Most of a first year is weeks with no case, and those weeks still need to count. A Set earns a point and an Opening earns 3. One entry in a week keeps their streak going, and leave weeks don't break it. Biscuit, the corgi on their screen, reacts to the week's logging.

  • Their streak marks 2, 4, 8, 12, 26 and 52 weeks
  • Their count sits beside their points on the board

041:1s

Start their 1:1 with their last two weeks, not 'how's it going?'

"It's fine" is the usual answer, so start from the numbers. The card fills in their last two weeks against their pledge, their streak and what you asked them to do last time. Your notes go on their coaching sheet, and they get a read-only copy.

05How they are

See who's had a rough couple of days.

If you use the daily mood check-in, you see each person's face for the day, and a flag at two rough or low days in a week. You see the face only, never their note. Weekly check-ins ask your own questions, and you get an email when one's filed.

  • Five faces to pick from
  • A week grid for each person
  • The district can read weekly check-ins

06Lessons

Open each module a set number of days after they start.

Three PDFs on day one don't get read. Build a course, or start from the onboarding template, and open each module a set number of days after each person starts. It goes to your whole agency or district, and each person moves through it from their own start date.

  • Video, reading, quizzes or text practice
  • See progress and quiz scores
  • A finish-by date locks nothing
