Where your messages are kept

Your chats, messages and contacts sit in a database in Singapore. Photos, voice notes and files people send are copied into file storage in the same place, and a voice note's transcript stays with its message.

Each photo or file is stored under a long random link. Nobody can browse the files, but anyone with a file's link can open it.

Chats are kept until you ask us to delete them. Nothing deletes them on a timer. A backup runs every night and is encrypted before it's stored. One copy is kept for 7 days and another for up to 14 days, so deleted data can stay in an encrypted backup for up to 14 days.

Green API, the service that links your number, keeps its own copy of your chat history, and of files for a limited time.

You decide who on your team reads each chat.

Each person reads their own chats. An admin reads every chat in the business, and only an admin can remove a number.

Share an inbox with a team at one of three levels: view, use or manage. Someone you give read access can read chats but can't reply.

You sign in with a link sent to your email. On your phone, you can lock the app with a PIN or Face ID once you've been away for 1 to 60 minutes. The key that links your number is readable only by our servers, never by a browser.

Which AI reads your chats, and when.

Replies are written only when you switch an agent on. By default, OpenAI's models write them. If you pick a Claude model, Anthropic's do.

Photos and PDFs people send go to the same model so it can read them. Voice notes are transcribed by Groq. TypeSafe checks some messages, for example whether "stop" really means stop.

Download your chats, or ask us to delete them.

Download any chat as a text file, one chat at a time. Reports and contacts export as CSV files.

You can delete a message you sent from the app for everyone, within 60 hours of sending it. Delete a contact and it's gone for good, while its chat stays in the inbox.

There's no button yet to delete a whole chat or your account. Email us and we'll delete it.

A new number warms up for a week. It starts no chats on day one, three on day two and ten a day until day six. After that, messages it starts go about ten minutes apart, and first messages to new leads about an hour apart. None of this holds back a reply to someone who wrote to you in the last 24 hours.

A risk check watches your number. When it looks at risk, first messages and broadcasts drop to half the daily limit. When the risk is high, everything your number would start pauses until the next day.

If someone asks to stop, the agent closes the chat, and broadcasts and check-ins skip them from then on. Quiet hours for the agent run from 11pm to 9am unless you change them.

Where we fall short today

  • It isn't the WhatsApp Business API, so Meta's approved message templates, reply buttons and the verified badge aren't available.
  • There's no button to delete a whole chat or your account. Deletion is by email.
  • Chats download one at a time, and the account-wide download doesn't include WhatsApp.
