Festive greeting generator: what to write in a holiday message to a customer
A short greeting for the customers you'd like to hear from again, in the tone you'd use with them.
Your greeting
Wishing you and your family a happy and healthy Chinese New Year. Thank you for your trust this past year, and may the year ahead bring good health and good fortune to your home. Gong xi fa cai!
What to write, in three choices
It takes a minute, and the greeting changes as you pick.
- 01Pick the festival: Chinese New Year, Hari Raya Puasa, Deepavali, Christmas or one of six more.
- 02Pick how you'd say it, warm, formal or short, and add the customer's name and yours.
- 03Copy it, or open it in WhatsApp and choose the customer to send it to.
Chinese New Year wishes for customers: warm, formal or short
The generator's three greetings for one customer, word for word.
Warm, under "Hi Mei Ling,": "Wishing you and your family a happy and healthy Chinese New Year. Thank you for your trust this past year, and may the year ahead bring good health and good fortune to your home. Gong xi fa cai!"
Formal, under "Dear Mei Ling,": "Wishing you and your family a prosperous Chinese New Year. Thank you for your support over the past year. May the new year bring you good health, happiness and success."
Short, with her name in it: "Happy Chinese New Year, Mei Ling! Wishing you and your family good health and good fortune this year."
Switch the festival to Deepavali and the short one reads: "Happy Deepavali, Mei Ling! Wishing you and your family a bright and joyful festival of lights."
A greeting that stays a greeting, not a sales pitch
Every greeting in the generator keeps the same few rules.
- It names the festival and wishes them well for it
- It can thank them, and it never asks for anything
- No offer, no product and no link
- It's short enough to read on a phone's lock screen
Send it on the day, not the week after
A greeting that arrives late reads like an afterthought.
- 01The morning of the festival
- 02The evening before, if you won't be free on the day
- 03Early in the festive period, for festivals that run for days
- 04On its own, never in the same message as a reminder
Know who to send it to
Palby CRM, which we make, keeps each customer with the last time you spoke.
- Customers who haven't been in touch for 30 days, in a ready-made view
- Birthdays in a view of their own, from a Birthday field on the record
- WhatsApp chats and notes on each customer's record
- Consent and Do not contact on each customer, honoured when you message them

Yes. A short, sincere wish for a festival your customer celebrates is a kind thing to send. Use the festival's usual greeting, keep it about them, and leave business out of it.
WhatsApp for customers you already message there, email for the ones you only email. Either way, send each one to one person, not to a group, so it reads as meant for them.
Tap Open in WhatsApp, pick the customer from your contacts and send. The greeting is typed in, so you can change a word before it goes.
Yes. Add it and the warm and formal greetings sign off with your name and your company's.
On the morning of the festival, or the evening before. For festivals that run for days, like Chinese New Year, early in the period.
