What's in it
An action item is one thing you said you would do, with a date. Meetings, emails and calls hand them out all day, and they get lost when they stay in your notes. This board keeps yours in one place.
- To do
- Each action starts with a verb, has a date, and says where it came from and who's waiting.
- Doing
- What you're working on now.
- Waiting on someone
- What you've handed over, with a note on when to follow up.
- Done
- Cleared every Friday by a five-minute task.
Tips from the template
- Add the action items straight after the meeting, while you remember them.
- An item with no date is not an action item yet. Give it one.
- Clear the Done column every Friday.
How to use it in Palby Planner
- 1Open Tasks and choose Templates.
- 2Find Action items and open it. You see every section and task before anything is added.
- 3Pick the day you start, or the day it has to be done by. Every date moves with it.
- 4Press Use template. Rename the project, then work down the list.

Questions
One thing someone agreed to do, with a date. If it has no date, it isn't an action item yet.
Start with a verb, say what gets delivered, and give it a real date: "send the revised timeline to Priya by Thursday", not "timeline".
An action item came from somewhere, like a meeting, an email or a call, and someone is waiting on it. So each card here says where it came from.
Here, straight after the meeting. The meeting notes template has an Action items heading, and this board is where they're tracked until they're done.
Yes. Print prints only the template, and Copy puts it on your clipboard as a checklist. Neither needs an account.
Every promise on one board.
