Welcome message and ask for email

Every message as it is sent. The app puts your own name and business where it says [Your name] and [Your business], {{Name}} is the contact's first name, and a word that starts with $ is filled in from the chat.

When: Chat starts

  1. 1

    Send a message

Hi! Thanks for messaging [Your business].

  2. 2

    Has email?

If Has email: email is set

    Nothing more.

    If Everyone else

    1. 3

      Ask a question

Could I have your email so I can send you the details?

Saves the answer to their card as email.

      If Answer did not fit

      1. 4

        Send a message

That address did not look quite right to me. No problem at all - send it again whenever you like and I will pick it up.

      2. 5

        Add a private note

Gave an email we could not read: $contact.last_incoming_message

What it does

Send a welcome message every time a contact starts a conversation and ask for their email if you don't have it.

How to use it in ActivityTracker

  1. 1Open Workflows and choose Start with a template.
  2. 2Pick the one called "Welcome message and ask for email". It opens as a draft with every step drawn and your name and business filled in.
  3. 3Change any words you like, then press Test to try it in a test chat.
  4. 4Publish it when it reads right. Nothing is sent before that, and you can stop it any time.

It sends from the WhatsApp you already use, linked as a device the way WhatsApp Web is. WhatsApp's help centre warns that linking through unofficial apps "may put your account at risk", so workflow messages wait their turn at your number's pace.
