Sales activity tracker: see by Wednesday if the week is enough

Calls, conversations, meetings, proposals and deals for each day of the week, next to the targets, with the week's totals and your own rates at the bottom. Download it for Excel or Word, or copy it. Free, no sign-up.

A busy week and a productive week feel the same until Friday. This tracker is one grid, with the activities down the side, the days across and the target at the start of each row. Put the day's count in before you log off, and by Wednesday you can see which row is behind while there are still two days to close it.

Count it every evening, not on Friday

Counts from memory run high, so fill in each day before you log off.

  • Two minutes before you log off, from your call list and your calendar
  • A conversation counts only when you spoke to the person you called
  • Next week's targets set from your last four weeks

Check it on Wednesday, while the week can still change

Three days in, each row should be at about three fifths of its target.

  • The row furthest behind, in the Wednesday check
  • A plan for Thursday and Friday to close the gap
  • Your rates, when the calls are on target but the meetings aren't

In her Wednesday check, the row furthest behind was referrals asked for, at 1 of 5, so she asked every customer she met on Thursday and Friday.

By Wednesday she had 33 calls of 60 and 1 referral ask of 5, and Thursday and Friday added 29 calls and 4 asks. Her rates came out at 3.3 calls per conversation, 3.8 conversations per meeting booked, 2 meetings per proposal and 2 proposals per deal.

Running a team? One tracker per rep, one total on Friday

The grid stays the same, while the rows and the people change.

  • A team

One tracker per rep, and on Friday you add the Total columns into one sheet or use the sales leaderboard template.

  • Field sales

Swap calls for visits, and add a row for new doors knocked.

  • A whole month

Keep four trackers and add up the four Total columns on the last Friday.

  • Your own business

Add a row for quotes sent and one for invoices chased.

  • Inbound leads

Add a row for enquiries answered, and a second for how many got an answer within the hour.

Skip counting your week on Friday

The template is free. ActivityTracker, the app we make, is paid, and because you log each call, meeting and deal in one tap, your day adds up by itself and your manager sees the week as it happens.

  • Logged one by mistake? Remove it and its points come off
  • Your weekly goal fills in as you log
  • Your funnel shows the rate at every step, counted from what you log
  • If your manager uses the app too, they see your week as you log it
