What to write, in three choices

It takes a minute, and the greeting changes as you pick.

  1. 01Pick the festival: Chinese New Year, Hari Raya Puasa, Deepavali, Christmas or one of six more.
  2. 02Pick how you'd say it, warm, formal or short, and add the client's name and yours.
  3. 03Copy it, or open it in WhatsApp and choose the client to send it to.

Chinese New Year wishes for clients: warm, formal or short

The generator's three greetings for one client, word for word.

  • Warm, under "Hi Mei Ling,": "Wishing you and your family a happy and healthy Chinese New Year. Thank you for your trust this past year, and may the year ahead bring good health and good fortune to your home. Gong xi fa cai!"

  • Formal, under "Dear Mei Ling,": "Wishing you and your family a prosperous Chinese New Year. Thank you for your support over the past year. May the new year bring you good health, happiness and success."

  • Short, with her name in it: "Happy Chinese New Year, Mei Ling! Wishing you and your family good health and good fortune this year."

  • Switch the festival to Deepavali and the short one reads: "Happy Deepavali, Mei Ling! Wishing you and your family a bright and joyful festival of lights."

A greeting that stays a greeting, not a sales pitch

Every greeting in the generator keeps the same few rules.

  • It names the festival and wishes them well for it
  • It can thank them, and it never asks for anything
  • No offer, no product and no link
  • It's short enough to read on a phone's lock screen

Send it on the day, not the week after

A greeting that arrives late reads like an afterthought.

  • 01The morning of the festival
  • 02The evening before, if you won't be free on the day
  • 03Early in the festive period, for festivals that run for days
  • 04On its own, never in the same message as a reminder

See who's due a message before the festival, not after

The generator is free. ActivityTracker, the app we make, is paid, and it keeps your clients and their chats in one place.

  • Link your WhatsApp number, and each client's chats sit on their record, so you can see when you last spoke
  • A week before Deepavali, the clients you haven't spoken to in 30 days are at the top of your list
  • Save your greeting as a quick reply, then type a slash to bring it up in each chat
  • Keep a note on each client's record of the festivals they celebrate
