ActivityTracker vs Salesforce

ActivityTracker vs Salesforce: does a team of eight advisors need a Salesforce admin?

Salesforce is a full CRM for banks, wealth firms and insurers. ActivityTracker is a smaller app for advisors who sell on WhatsApp and the manager who wants to see their week.

The short version

Pick Salesforce if your firm needs one CRM for many advisors, with household data, custodian connections and people to run it. Pick ActivityTracker if you're an advisor or a small team who sells on WhatsApp and wants the week's calls and meetings counted. Some teams keep Salesforce as the firm's record and log the week in ActivityTracker.

Who should pick which

Stay with Salesforce if

  • your firm already runs on Salesforce, and the client record has to stay there
  • you need household data, custodian and planning connections, and compliance in one CRM
  • you have people to set it up and keep it running

Pick ActivityTracker if

  • your clients message you on WhatsApp and you want each chat on their record
  • you want the team's calls and meetings counted each week, without a report
  • you're one advisor or a team of 5 to 30, and your client list is a spreadsheet today

Where Salesforce is strong

Salesforce says 24,000 financial services institutions use it across banking, wealth and insurance. Its wealth management platform brings client and household data together, connects to custodial and wealthtech platforms, and has an edition for RIAs that it says is running in days (its newer pages call the product Agentforce Financial Services). Financial Services Cloud's Advanced edition includes the insurance brokerage version, there's a 30-day free trial with no credit card, and a small firm can start on Sales Cloud's Starter Suite at US$25 a user. If your firm has many advisors, compliance to satisfy and people to run a CRM, Salesforce fits.

The three differences that matter

Your WhatsApp chats land on the client's record

Link your WhatsApp number the way WhatsApp Web does, and every chat lands on the client's record with their stage, your notes and the next follow-up. An AI agent answers new enquiries in your words and offers times from your calendar.

The week counts itself

Each call and meeting is a tap on the advisor's phone. The weekly board, each person's pace and the Gone quiet list are there midweek, while a slow week can still change.

Start from the spreadsheet you have

Upload your client spreadsheet and your book is on your phone in minutes, with one tap to undo the import. Calls, sets, openings, closings and referrals are ready on day one.

Switching in three steps

  1. Upload the client spreadsheet you keep now.
  2. Link your WhatsApp number by scanning the code under Linked devices.
  3. Invite the team and let them log from their phones.
