About this template
A new group lives or dies on its first three events. Most founders do it alone, pick a topic too broad to attract anyone in particular, and burn out by the fourth month.
This is a short, ordered list from choosing the topic to the first event and the promise of a second. Use the meetup night template for each event after that.
Tips from the template
- Work down the list in order; each step feeds the next.
- Do not announce the group before you have a date and a venue.
How to use it in ActivityTracker
- 1Open Tasks and choose Templates.
- 2Find Starting a meetup group and open it. You see every section and task before anything is added.
- 3Pick the day you start, or the day it has to be done by. Every date moves with it.
- 4Press Use template. Rename the project, then work down the list.
