$833 a day
About $25,000 a month and $304,167 a year.
| Change | A day | Adds |
|---|---|---|
| 10% more opportunities (44) | $917 | $83 |
| 10% bigger deals ($5,500) | $917 | $83 |
| 10% higher win rate (27.5%) | $917 | $83 |
| 10% shorter cycle (54 days) | $926 | $93 |
The sums behind the default numbers. Put the same numbers in and you'll get the same answer.
40 opportunities x $5,000 x 25% is $50,000. Over a 60-day cycle, that's about $833 a day.
Add 10% to opportunities, deal size or win rate, and each one takes it from $833 to about $917 a day.
A 10% shorter cycle, 54 days, adds about $93, to $926, because the cycle divides the other three.
Bigger moves: a 45-day cycle gives about $1,111 a day, and a 30% win rate gives $1,000.
Use the same period and the same rules each time, so this quarter compares with the last.

Opportunities times average deal size times win rate, divided by sales cycle length in days. The answer is revenue per day. Our glossary's sales velocity entry has a worked example.
Many teams use the two names for the same formula. Some use pipeline velocity for how fast deals move between stages, so check which one a report means.
Whichever is cheapest for you to move. The three on top move it in proportion, and a 10% shorter cycle adds about 11%.
A qualified deal that's open now. Use the same rule every time, or this quarter's figure won't compare with the last.
From deals that finished, won or lost, over the last few months. The win rate calculator works it out and counts deals that went quiet as losses.
Velocity uses averages, and one large deal lifts the average deal size for the whole quarter. If your deal sizes vary a lot, work out small and large deals separately.
